Mission We are a church committed to:
- Glorifying God by our worship, our mutual encouragement, and our mission to relieve the hurts in our community and our world.
- Encouraging Christian maturity and growth in faith by our congregational worship and study, by honoring the Bible as our source of faith and teaching, and by sharing our joys and sorrows in fellowship.
- Spreading the love of Christ by our expressions of compassion and forgiveness among our fellowship as we reach out to those who are hurting in the community.
Purpose
Our purpose is to learn the nature of God from focused studies of the Scriptures, to offer humble, appropriate worship to our Lord, to encourage each other in the development of all talents, to teach others as we find opportunities, and to serve the needs of citizens of this community. We aim to fellowship and nurture Christian relationships with all sister congregations of Churches of Christ.
History
In February 2007, a group desiring an atmosphere of mutual trust, respect, and active participation of all its members
met for the first time. For the first year, we met in homes or "borrowed" rooms.
After more than a year, we now have a public meeting place.
Dr. David Jackson drives to Oxford from Memphis where he teaches Religion in a private school.
He preaches and teaches on Sundays and works with the church three days a week in the summer months.
We invite visitors or join the LOU Church of Christ, and we earnestly pray for the Lord's continued guidance in the
establishment of His church.
